In 2018, he became the current president of Paramount Global's Nickelodeon division. He replaced Cyma Zarghami, who had worked at Nick for most of her career since 1985. In 2024, he became Co-CEO of all of Paramount Global.[1] Since his hiring, Robbins has managed various promotions for the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
Unhappy that SpongeBob "always stayed the same,"[2] Robbins and several staff members of the show came up with multiple ideas for spin-off shows and new characters. He announced the first, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, in June 2019, just months after the passing of series creator Stephen Hillenburg.[3]
