Synopsis
The episode opens with SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy fishing for a jellyfish. They run into a dirty sock and play around with it for a while, until Maisey Manes, shows up and catches it. She introduces herself to SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy. Maisey then tells them what they can do if they fill the sock with mud, to which Patrick ends up doing so. He launches the mud at SpongeBob, Sandy, and Maisey, but the mold of mud that looks like Maisey melts, and SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy find out that she disappeared and they look for her. Patrick slips on the sock, causing it to be launched towards Squidward.
SpongeBob and Sandy continue looking for Maisey around the camp, but they are unable to find her. Mr. Krabs comes out of his cabin, as it is revealed that Patrick ended up inside him. SpongeBob asks Mr. Krabs about Maisey, but he gets shocked that they know about her and explains that he was warned about her, due to her being a ghost. He becomes worried about the campers (and their money) leaving the camp and goes into hiding.
SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy head back to their cabin, finding Maisey inside. She reveals her ghostly powers to them and goes around the camp, pulling a scare on Plankton. SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy, now dressed as ghosts, join her in scaring the other campers. Mr. Krabs is shown hiding in his cabin, as Mrs. Puff soon shows up and she explains to Mr. Krabs about her experience of ghost hunting. Maisey runs into the cabin, alarming Mrs. Puff to go after her.
Mrs. Puff powers up her net in preparation while Maisey takes SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy back to their cabin. Mrs. Puff goes around the camp looking for Maisey, while Patrick tries to distract her, being unsuccessful. Mrs. Puff catches something, and SpongeBob and Sandy make her think she did catch a ghost, but it is revealed to be a jellyfish, which stings her.
Mrs. Puff then unleashes her ghost jar, which instantly sucks Maisey inside. SpongeBob tries to convince Mrs. Puff to let her out, but she insists on burying the jar. SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy cry for a bit, until Maisey randomly shows up behind them. She explains that ghosts cannot be held in jars and they just make the hunters believe that they can. Maisey leaves to haunt other camps. Meanwhile, Mr. Krabs is shown hiding inside the safe, to which Maisey shows up inside, scaring Mr. Krabs. He runs off for help as the episode ends.
