| The '''Chum famine of '59''' was a famine that most likely had taken place in 1959. {{Link|Mr. Krabs}} had referenced this in the episode "[[Hooky]]," stating that no employee of the [[Krusty Krab]] had taken a break since then. However, this was disproved in "[[Friend or Foe]]," as Mr. Krabs and {{Link|Plankton}} were clearly making and eating chum when this famine supposedly happened. The Famine is again referenced in "[[Frozen Face-Off]]," when Mr. Krabs recalls being forced to eat Kelp during the famine, which he found "Kind of dry, but good."
