Character

Elves, singular elf, are creatures similar to humans. Many of them work for Santa Claus. They first appear in a "Holiday Party" concept sketch.^[1]^[2]^[3]

Description

In "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!," the elves are short goblin-like beings with long noses, pointy ears, pale skin, green eyes, dark-green hats, red cloaks, and brown boots.

In "SpongeBob's Road to Christmas," they have a traditional appearance: red hats, red and green tunics and green pants with white stripes.

Toy-making elves are mentioned in Template:Data:Links's narration of Template:Data:Links telling Template:Data:Links about Christmas.

"Welcome to the Chum Bucket"

The littlest sea elf is a character in a sea leprechaun book that Template:Data:Links reads to Template:Data:Links.

"It's a SpongeBob Christmas!"

Santa's elves steal the Krabby Patty secret formula from Template:Data:Links' pocket and attempt to steal his wallet as well.

They later dump a bag of coal on top of Plankton as punishment for turning everyone naughty.

"SpongeBob's Road to Christmas"

In this episode, Santa's elves are seen working in Santa's workshop as they are having fun while Santa is out of town with "the Mrs." During this time, they notice SpongeBob and Template:Data:Links stealing presents and they attempt to attack them. The reindeer come in and get into a fight with the elves after one of them unintentionally throws an ornament at one of the reindeer until Santa shows up.

A concept sketch by Manny Galan features five elves in Santa's workshop: a beardless Boss Elf, a pointy-eared Hermey, an elf Jimmy Neutron, an elf SpongeBob, and an elf "nonchalantly smoking a cigarette. Guess it could read like a nail in his mouth?"^[1]^[2]^[3]

"The 12 Days of Nickmas"

An entire group of Nicktoon characters, all rendered in claymation a.k.a. Rankin/Bass style with many dressed as elves, sing to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas."

"Back to School Season"

Ernie Elf^[4] appears on products in the snack school bus display.

SpongeBob has had three different elf outfits: his costume as a P&P elf in "Mid-Life Crustacean," his uniform as one of Santa's elves in "Holiday Party," "The 12 Days of Nickmas," and a Merry Nickmas bumper,^[5] and his uniform as Krabby Klaws' head elf in Christmas with Krabby Klaws/Best Christmas Stories Ever!
- The costume looks quite different from the uniforms, which look very similar to each other.
