• The episode's title card is similar to I Was a Teenage Gary.
• This is the second time Squidward gets stung on purpose by Spongebob and Patrick, the first was in Cephalopod Lodge. However, he got stung in the tongue by a jellyfish in Cephalopod Lodge, this time, he gets stung in the arm by an Electric Eel.
• This is also the first appearance of an Electric Eel since Walking Small.
• This is the second time of Kelpy G.'s music, the first was The Thing.The third time will be in Smooth jass in Bikini Bottom
• This is the second time Squidward's house's parts come off, the first was in Squidville. The third will be in A Friendly Game
• Sandy was originally going to be in this episode, but it was cut out for obvious reasons.
