Face Freeze!

Plot

SpongeBob and Patrick are eating lunch at the Krusty Krab. While eating they start making funny at each other and laughing. Mr. Krabs rushes out of his office to see them making faces at each other and tells them to stop. He then tells them a story about a man (Fred Rechid) who wouldn't stop sticking his tongue out so his face got frozen with his tongue out. SpongeBob and Patrick are terrified of this story and vow never to make faces again.

Later that day, SpongeBob and Patrick are seen trying hard not to make faces. However, they start smirking about their attempts at doing this and eventually start laughing so hard their faces start contorting. They then realize that nothing happened to their faces while doing this and that Mr. Krabs was lying. SpongeBob then suggests they really put Mr. Krabs' myth to the test and they start going around Bikini Bottom making faces.

Later that night, SpongeBob and Patrick are seen in a tent outside SpongeBob's house making faces a long with a lot of noise. Squidward eventually gets bothered by this and starts yelling at them to keep it down. SpongeBob then suggests to Patrick that they try sleeping through the night while holding a funny face. Patrick agrees and they start doing this.

The next day, SpongeBob and Patrick wake up and realize they can't move their faces. They start screaming and rush to Sandy's house for help. Sandy then starts giving them a face massage. However, this just makes their faces droop down to their chins. SpongeBob then goes to work at the Krusty Krab anyways.

At the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob causes a lot of ruckus as he tries to make Krabby Patties and keep anyone from looking at his face at the same time. However, eventually, Mr. Krabs finds out about SpongeBob's face freeze because Patrick walked into the Krusty Krab with a contorted face. Mr. Krabs gets so angry with SpongeBob that his face gets contorted too. Squidward then sees SpongeBob, Patrick and Mr. Krabs with contorted faces and starts laughing and eventually his face gets contorted too and the episode ends with SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs and Patrick laughing at Squidward's face as he tries to get them to stop.

Trivia/Goofs

• Due to the faces that SpongeBob and Patrick made, veiwers had varying judgements on the episode; claimed this to be one of the "weirdest episodes" and/or "funniest episodes" ever.
• When SpongeBob gives the customer his food, his lips are not on the tray. In the next shot, they are.
• The Gary face SpongeBob first makes look similar to SpongeSnail from I Was a Teenage Gary also the face freeze that Mr. Krabs make looks likes Moar Krabs from Jellyfish Hunter.
• When SpongeBob's lips are on the customer's Krabby Patties, his hat is gone. In the next shot it is back.
• Squidward and Mr. Krabs got face freeze after involuntarily making one face, but it took two days for SpongeBob and Patrick to get it.
• This is the third time Sandy rides a surfboard. The first time is Ripped Pants. The second time is SpongeBob vs. The Big One.
• Normally, SpongeBob and Patrick would dry up in Sandy's tree dome. But on this episode, they didn't.
• This episode, and it's accompanying partner had originally aired right after Season 9 premered.
• This is the second time SpongeBob and Patrick camp outside their homes, after The Camping Episode. Both times involved disturbing Squidward.
• The face Patrick gets stuck with vaguely resembles Totodile from Pokemon.
• When Squidward got the face freeze, he looked happy, but was still able to act like other emotions.
  • Also, while he was laughing with the face freeze over SpongeBob and friends, he said, "It's not funny! Stop laughing!"
