Object

The Dictionary is a book that first appears in the episode "Krusty Love."

Description

It is a varyingly-colored book that has the word "Dictionary" on it, which is sometimes underlined.

Role in series

"Krusty Love"

While SpongeBob is speaking gibberish, Mrs. Puff grabs a dictionary and reads it to understand what SpongeBob is saying. She blushes at his "colorful" vocabulary he uses to Mr. Krabs.

"The Abrasive Side"

Mr. Krabs uses it to look up the definition of the word "overtime" after SpongeBob mentions it. He becomes horrified by the word because of its definition.

Later in the episode, Mr. Krabs appears reading it from a faraway distance using a stick when SpongeBob returns for help with his abrasive side.

"Sharks vs. Pods"

Sharkface tells SpongeBob that he is "one poppin' porifera." SpongeBob proceeds to grab a dictionary and read what the word means, since he does not understand what "porifera" means.

"The Whole Tooth"

Patrick grabs a green dictionary when he uses the word "chicanery" after SpongeBob betrays him.

"Scavenger Pants"

SpongeBob takes out a dictionary to tell Patrick what a scavenger hunt is.
