The pineapple seed is a seed that appears in the episode "Home Sweet Pineapple" and the book Tales from Bikini Bottom.

Description

It is a small light brown seed.

Role in episode and book

After SpongeBob's house gets eaten by nematodes, SpongeBob discovers that the seed is all that is left of it. Later, when SpongeBob decides to move back with his parents, he plants the seed into the ground and sheds a tear, which lands on the seed, causing it to grow a new copy of the pineapple house.

Trivia

• At the end of the episode, it grows a massive plant to grow a new copy of SpongeBob's house, implying that whenever SpongeBob grows his new house from the pineapple seed, it is actually a giant seed.
• Stephen Hillenburg stated the pineapple seeds from real life have the same color. In SpongeBob SquarePants, the seed is actually colored the same.
