The soap press is a machine in the basement of Mr. Krabs and Pearl's house. It appears in the episode "Barnacle Face."
Description
The soap press is a brown machine with multiple gauges. It requires a lever to be pulled to turn it on. After this, an object can be inserted through the top, which is placed on a grate and smashed into a soap bar. The soap travels on a conveyor belt and is deposited in a container.
Role in episode
When SpongeBob goes into Mr. Krabs' basement, he sees Mr. Krabs struggling with the lever of the soap press. After SpongeBob helps Mr. Krabs pull it down, the latter explains that the soap he and Pearl use come from the soap press and demonstrates by using leftover Krabby Patties as the base for making the soap. SpongeBob, realizing that the soap is what caused Pearl's barnacles to appear, attempts to warn Mr. Krabs of what would happen if Pearl finds out about it, but she has already entered to overhear this. Outraged at the discovery that she has been using soap made out of Krabby Patties, Pearl hurls soap bars at Mr. Krabs as he leaves.
