SpongeBob SquarePants plush toys are stuffed toys that were first released in 2002. There are two main lines: a line released by Nickelodeon themselves, and a set of Ty's Beanie Babies.

The characters that are available are: SpongeBob (in many different styles), Patrick (in many different styles), Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Pearl, Mrs. Puff, Sandy, Gary, Plankton, and Karen. SpongeBob's pineapple house has also been made as a plush toy accompanying SpongeBob himself.

Trivia

A set of the mini plush variants.
  • On most SpongeBob stuffed toys, his arms are attached to his face rather than his shirt, like in the series.
  • Tom Kenny personally owns several plush toys of SpongeBob, and he has posed with them at Nickelodeon events.
    • In the series, Patchy the Pirate is shown to own plush toys of SpongeBob. His toys are edited versions of actual SpongeBob merchandise. For example, one of Patchy's SpongeBob plushes has enlarged pupils and a bow tie instead of SpongeBob's usual necktie.
      • According to Vincent Waller, "any actual merchandise in an episode is legally required to be altered, so it doesn't appear we are using it as a commercial for our goods."[1]
  • Around 1,200 Sandy Cheeks plush toys were recalled in 2010 because young children can remove and ingest her nose, which poses a choking hazard.[2]
  • The Sponge on the Run theater plushies were released in the US, even though the movie was not released in theaters due to COVID-19.
  • Most Mrs. Puff plushes have the lipstick above the nose. This applies to lots of other Mrs. Puff merchandise.
    • This error was fixed with the 2013 plush.
