"HoppoBoppo128/They're playing my tune" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season {{{seasonnumber}}}. In this episode, .SpongeBob and Squidward add some music to the Krusty Krab. (season 1 episode 2a)

Synopsis

Squidward is tired of all the noises in the Krusty Krab, so he suggests to Mr. Krabs that they add music as it means "More money." Later, Squidward practices playing the clarinet to put on a radio. However, Mr. Krabs puts in some "Sea chanties" in the radio, only attracting tough sailors who almost destroy the Krusty Krab. Pearl suggests her music, this time only attracting people who say they're "starving," but only come in to dance. Then, Squidward puts in his music, which is just him playing clarinet for 6 hours. Four seconds later, nobody comes. Finally, SpongeBob puts in his music, which everybody comes to. Squidward, however, does not like the song and tries to escape it, only to hear it everywhere. In the Mariachi Trench, on top of Mt. Unclimbable, In "We hate musictown," (which is now "We love musictown") even in his own bed. (Patrick sings it in his house) Then, Squidward sneaks into the Krusty Krab to shut off the music, only to turn on the alarm. SpongeBob rushes over, and finds out that Squidward only wanted to play his music. They then make some music together, only for the radio to get arrested. They then go back to no music, but SpongeBob calls it the "Sweetest music of all time."

  • When Squidward is buying groceries while being bothered by SpongeBob's song, one of the things he buys is Canned Bread.
  • When Squidward is composing music for his CD, he mentions the William Shell Overture (a reference to the William Tell Overture) and the theme from Billy the Squid (a reference to Western outlaw Billy the Kid, and possibly referencing the theme from the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid).
  • One of the places Squidward goes to is the Mariachi Trench, a reference to the Mariana Trench, the deepest trench in the world.
