Template:OTab Template:Object Anchor Arms are a pair of inflatable, rubber arms that Template:Data:Links wears in the episode "MuscleBob BuffPants." They also are briefly seen in the episode "Handemonium" and in multiple games.
Description
Anchor Arms appear to be long, large, pink balloons that are worn on the arms like gloves and inflated to mimic the appearance of highly developed arm muscles.
The settings are as follows:
- Normal
- Strong
- Veiny
- Hairy (for the "ladies")
The levels of air pressure are as follows:
- Normal (green)
- Strong (yellow)
- Super (orange)
- Jerk (red — It is advised to never inflate to this level as it will cause over-inflation and damage the Anchor Arms. However, SpongeBob eventually blows them exceeding Jerk as he struggles when lifting his anchor, causing them to overstretch, explode, and deflate.)
Role in series
"MuscleBob BuffPants"
SpongeBob, coming to a conclusion that he is very weak, buys a pair of Anchor Arms after having seen a commercial for them, with the intent to impress Template:Data:Links with his "strength." He goes to Goo Lagoon to deceive everyone with his fake muscles, with everyone buying it. Thinking that he is really strong, Sandy signs him up for an Anchor Toss competition.
When it is SpongeBob's turn to go, the Anchor Arms' rubber starts to stress due to SpongeBob overinflating them into the "Jerk" size while struggling to lift the anchor. Eventually, they explode and deflate, revealing his "muscles" to have been fake for shopping.
"Handemonium"
Anchor Arms are mentioned on some graffiti found on the side of Larry's Gym, reading "Anchor Arms are for wimps."
Role in games
Revenge of the Flying Dutchman
They can be seen in the GameBoy Advance Version for one of SpongeBob's wishes.
Battle for Bikini Bottom/Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated
In the console versions of the original Battle for Bikini Bottom, and all versions of Rehydrated, a variant of the Anchor Arms is used to repair SpongeBot SteelPants, after the real SpongeBob temporarily destroys him. The difference is that these particular Anchor Arms appear to be made of plastic instead of rubber balloons as in the original episode.
SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis SquareOff
They are used by SpongeBob to battle enemies.
SpongeBob Moves In!
They are used as a costume for SpongeBob.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
They are used for SpongeBob's light down attack.
SpongeBob: Bubble Pop
They appear on the Anchor Arms SpongeBob costume.
Role in books
SpongeBob's Book of Excuses
One of the excuses is Sandy asking SpongeBob why he has fake muscles; SpongeBob replies that "the muscles are real, the rest of [him] is fake."
Trivia

- SpongeBob appears to hide his real arms inside his body while using the Anchor Arms, as seen after the Arms get destroyed, he pops his arms out as Sandy looks at him.
