Template:Person John Andrew Overtoom (born May 27, 1962; age Template:Age) is a former SpongeBob SquarePants crew member. He worked as an animation director and sheet timer from seasons 1-8, and returned to the franchise in season 12, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, and The Patrick Star Show.
He was usually paired up with Paul Tibbitt, Walt Dohrn, and Kent Osborne during its second and third seasons, and split the director role with him and Tom Yasumi. From seasons 4-8 and after returning in season 12, he is one of the main animation directors along with Yasumi and Alan Smart, later joined by Michelle Bryan in mid-season 12. During season 13's "Karen for Spot," he was teamed with Dave Cunningham before he would eventually retire from the series and his duties as a animation director were replaced by Eric Bryan. The final episode he worked on was season 15's "Biscuit Ballyhoo."
Biography
Recent credits for Andrew Overtoom include The Patrick Star Show and SpongeBob SquarePants as well as The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, where he served as CG-animation director and Head of Character Animation (HOCA). He was a supervising animation director on the Cartoon Network series Clarence as well as the Disney animated television series Billy Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer where he was a writer and animation supervisor. In 1999, after two years as an animation timer on The Angry Beavers, Overtoom was hired as an animation director on the Nickelodeon animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants, for which he was nominated at the Emmy Awards in 2004, 2007, and 2011. Other credits include Family Guy and American Dad! for the Fox Broadcasting Company and Dave the Barbarian and Phineas and Ferb for Disney.
