The game is composed of three segments / rounds.
● Episode review - 128 episodes up for review. You have the choice to vote based on a scale of [oppose] 1-10, [neutral], or [support] 1-10. The purpose of this stage is to narrow the 128 episodes down to 32 which advance to round 2, the group round.
Use the buttons on the scale with numbers to vote.
● Group stage - eight groups: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H, four episodes in a group. Episodes compete in a round-robin format, where each episode plays the other three in the group just once. A win is worth 3 points; a tie, 1 point; and a loss, 0. The two episodes with the highest point totals (out of the group) at the end of those three games move on to the knockout rounds. In accordance with the timeline, the round will take 24 days to complete. A group plays out two round robin matches a day, for three days, and then the next group starts.
Trivia: In the group stage, an episode could tie a game, or even lose, but still play on. Whether the episode advances or not depends on the end score, so there are more opportunities to advance. But in the knockout/elimination rounds, the losing episode is eliminated from the entire tournament while the winner goes to the next round.
● Elimination round - a round of 16, then quarterfinal, semifinal, ultimately leading to the most important game: the Sponge Cup final.
Some important information: when voting in matches that contain multiple episodes (which will start in the group stage (round 2)), you need to vote in this format:
{{Support/Neutral/OpposeVote|Rating|Production Number of Episode}}
You need to choose one of the options (Support, Neutral or Oppose) and remove the other two from that example. Then, you put in a rating. From 1-10. Finally add the production number. In this case, the production number for "Help Wanted" is 001a, not 1a. It is case sensitive so please make sure your vote is accurate. Here is an example of a support vote: {{SupportVote|7|001a}}
which gives this: File:Support.png Support [001a; 7] –.
Neutrals will always have a rating of 0, so regardless of what rating you put, it will always be displayed and interpreted as "0." {{NeutralVote|0|001a}}
That is an example of a neutral vote in a multiple episode game. For single episode reviews, just do {{NeutralVote|0}}
You do not even have to include the "0" if you want because it will appear no matter what. So these are also acceptable: {{NeutralVote}}
(single) & {{NeutralVote||001a}}
(double). In multiple episode games though, you need to include the production number still.
I'll note it is best to use the scale with numbers on them, because it slightly simplifies things. Much of this section applies to aspects of this where two episodes get reviewed against each other, not the first round where episodes get reviewed individually.
The game strongly relates to the World Cup. Concepts from it are being used here.
