• [Some snails are snoring in a forest. Pan over to Gary, who is also snoring, until he is woken up by his rumbling stomach.]
• Gary: Meow.
• [Gary finds a bug to eat. He sniffs it, then eats it.]
• Gary: [bug jumping in his mouth] Meow. Meow?
• [The bug, now muscular lifts up Gary's mouth. The bug jumps out and starts speaking gibberish to Gary as he walks off.]
• Gary: Meow.
• [Gary slithers away, and peeks through some grass as he sees a vegetable garden up ahead. The camera zooms into a shiny red tomato. Gary now has tomatoes on his eyes.]
• Gary: Meow! [licks lips as he heads to the tomato and takes a bite out of it]
• Mrs. Puff: [with a picnic basket, humming] Some fresh vegetables from my garden will make today's picnic [picks tomatoes from the garden] positively perfect. Each one grown with love, free of harsh chemicals, and untouched by... [picks up another tomato, only for Gary to be eating it] [Gary burps and licks the tomato] Snails! [screams and inflates] Oh. [starts rolling towards Gary]
• Gary: Ah? [frightened] Meow! [slithers away from Mrs. Puff]
• [Rolling, Mrs. Puff knocks down a few trees while chasing Gary. She deflates, still chasing Gary.]
• Mrs. Puff: Get back here, you thieving snail! [Gary speeds off]
• [Some campers are talking to each other, when Gary slithers by.]
• Camper: Hey, you guys. [get knocked over by Mrs. Puff, still chasing Gary]\
• Gary: [meowing, he slithers around a camping tent]
• Mrs. Puff: [runs through the tent, ripping it]
• Campers: [stepping back] Huh?
• Gary: [meowing, he stops behind a cabin's stake] Meow! [continues slithering]
• Mrs. Puff: [panting, looking around]
• SpongeBob: [in the cabin, stretching] Picnic stretching, no kvetching, picnic stretching-- [Gary opens the trapdoor he is under, and SpongeBob yelps] [falls upside down] Gary, [gets back up] my favorite forest snail! I haven't seen you since last summer! [hugs Gary] Bring it in, buddy! [laughs]
• Mrs. Puff: [barging in with a chainsaw] Snail!
• SpongeBob: Hi, Mrs. Puff!
• Mrs. Puff: Have you seen any disgusting snails in here, SpongeBob?
• SpongeBob: Hmm. Disgusting snails? [Mrs. Puff looks at the slime trail next to him] Mm, don't think so. [laughs nervously as she sees the end of the trail]
• Mrs. Puff: Oh, really? Then what do you call [pulls a drooling Patrick from under the bed] this?
• SpongeBob: [pointing] I call it a Patrick! [laughs]
• Mrs. Puff: Huh? [angrily looks at Patrick, then tosses him to the ground, who hugs the chainsaw in his sleep] Well, keep your eyes open, because when I find that garden grubbing snail, he's [grabs some salt and a tomato] escargot!
• [Mrs. Puff shakes salt onto the tomato and violently eats it. She laughs maniacally as some of the tomato splatters onto SpongeBob, then slams the cabin door shut. She opens the door again, taking the chainsaw from Patrick.]
• Gary: [SpongeBob whimpers as he drops onto him from the ceiling] Meow.
• SpongeBob: Gary, what is this all about?
• Gary: Meow.
• SpongeBob: Aw, you were just hungry, and you didn't realize that the tomato you ate was growing in Mrs. Puff's private garden, and you feel bad because this has all been a big misunderstanding, but now you're afraid the situation has gone too far, and Mrs. Puff is trying to salt you, and you don't know what to do?
• Gary: [fearfully] Meow.
• SpongeBob: Well, don't worry, little guy! [standing on Gary, pointing] Patrick and I will keep you safe! Right, Patrick?
• [Pan over to Patrick, who is still snoring on the floor. He farts.]
• SpongeBob: Uh, [points the other way] maybe I'll ask Sandy for some help too.
• [Bubble transition to Sandy's treedome, where SpongeBob and Patrick are as well. Gary is in a fishbowl.]
• Sandy: Hmm. Uh-huh. So you boys wanna sneak Gary out of camp, but you can't leave the cabin 'cause Mrs. Puff could be anywhere?
• [Bubble Bass dumps his trash into a trash can, and Mrs. Puff pops out.]
• Mrs. Puff: [angry, with a chainsaw and a drawing of Gary] Have you seen a snail? [Bubble Bass screams and runs away, and Mrs. Puff chases after him]
• SpongeBob: [watching Mrs. Puff] Yeah, that about sums it up.
• Sandy: [looking at Gary] Hmm. Well, I think I got a solution for you! We're gonna hide Gary in [raises the fishbowl up to her head] plain sight!
• Gary: Meow.
• [Bubble transition to Gary now in a disguise. He is wearing a mop for hair, a green hat, a box for a torso, and roller skates for legs. He rolls by as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy all greet the other campers.]
• Sandy: Have a camp-tastic day, fellas.
• SpongeBob: Hiya, Mr. Tentacles.
• Squidward: [reading a magazine] Don't care. [flips the page]
• SpongeBob: Sandy, the disguise is working perfectly. The other kids think Gary's one of us.
• Sandy: [nervous] Oh, let's hope it works on adults. [pointing] Look.
• Mr. Krabs: [whistling as he heads towards the four of them] Shorten your sails there, campers. [points to Gary] Who's this now?
• Patrick: That's Gary! He's a sn--
• SpongeBob: [interrupting] Snappy dresser! [laughs] Just another sharp-looking camper, that's all.
• Mr. Krabs: Oh, yeah? Then where'd his kerchief go? All fully-paid campers [pointing at Gary's torso] have a kerchief.
• Patrick: Huh? Uh. [takes off his kerchief]
• Mr. Krabs: [looking away] No kerchief would mean he's [Patrick tries to put his kerchief onto Gary, but it drops] a stranger trying to use me camp [Patrick picks up the kerchief and successfully puts it onto Gary] without paying! [gasps and looks back at Gary] Huh? Ooh, ha, ha, [adjusting Gary's kerchief] my mistake. You kids enjoy the rest of your day. [the campers all walk by, and Mr. Krabs grabs Patrick by the shirt] Except for you, stranger. No kerchief, no camp! [squishes Patrick into a ball and rolls him across the lake]
• Patrick: [lands right outside the Kamp Koral entrance] Hey, no fair. [a jellyfish flies by] Oh! Pretty jelly! [chases the jellyfish, laughing]
• Sandy: Eh, he'll be back when he's hungry.
• Perch: [on loudspeaker] Attention, Koral Kampers. The annual Kamp Koral picnic will begin shortly in the-- [crashing] Ugh, hey!
• Mrs. Puff: [on loudspeaker] Beware, campers! An enemy snail has infiltrated our beloved camp. [Gary hunches down as she speaks] Salt on sight! I repeat, salt on sight! Yeah!
• SpongeBob: [jumps] Oh, boy! The picnic is starting! [pointing] Come on, we gotta sign up for the picnic games [runs away] right away!
• Sandy: [laughs, hand around Gary] Well, what do you say, little guy? Your disguise is foolproof, and with Patrick gone, we're gonna need you on our team.
• Gary: [excitedly] Meow, meow!
• [Bubble transition to the next scene, where Craig Mammalton is tying his shoe to Tall Tail's. The other campers have also tied themselves to each other in teams. Everyone is ready to race.]
• Mrs. Puff: [raising red flag] Let the four-legged race... [lowers red flag] begin!
• [The racers begin to move forward. Regigille hops, while Gary, SpongeBob, and Sandy roll forward. Some campers are seen cheering. Tall Tail, with Craig and Mo attached to him, walks normally, and gets ahead of Gary and Regigille's teams. Gary's team spins around, and rolls into Regigille, sending him flying backwards. Gary's team then flies into Tall Tail, also knocking his team over. Gary's team makes it past the finish line, and they all land on the ground, standing up while dizzy.]
• Mrs. Puff: [laughs] That was some fancy racing! Uh...
• Gary: Meow.
• SpongeBob: Gary! His name is Gary! [throws up and falls down] [Mrs. Puff gasps]
• [Bubble transition to the eating competition, where Gary, SpongeBob, Sandy, Craig, and Mo are all standing at a table.]
• Mrs. Puff: Welcome to the eating competition. [putting plates of fruits and vegetables onto the table] Time to gorge yourself on my gourds.
• Gary: [grinning] Meow!
• Mrs. Puff: [blows whistle]
• Contestants: Yeah!
• Gary: [tilts the table so that he can eat all of the food] [swallows and sighs] Meow! [burps]
• Mrs. Puff: Oh! [laughs] You must really like my vegetables. What a healthy boy. [kisses Gary, leaving a trail of slime]
• Gary: Meow. [Mrs. Puff wipes off the slime, grinning]
• [Bubble transition to the Clampitheater, where the Picnic Awards take place.]
• Mrs. Puff: [using microphone] Thank you all for coming. I hope you enjoyed the picnic today.
• SpongeBob: [shouting, from audience] Yeah! Picnics!
• Mrs. Puff: [on microphone] It's time to hand out the annual picnic awards for Best camper! This one goes to someone that's become quite dear to me over the course of this picnic. He's not just an excellent competitor, he's also a very hungry boy. Everyone, put your fins together for Gary! [cheers and applause as SpongeBob and Sandy take Gary up to the stage] [handing out the Best Camper award, which is a golden cornucopia] Ta-da!
• Gary: Meow! [tongue hangs out] Ah... [jumps out of his disguise and bits on the trophy]
• SpongeBob: [the hair lands on him, and gasps]
• Audience: [gasps]
• Mrs. Puff: [gasps] A snail! [cocking a saltshaker] Salt on sight! [shoots salt at Gary, who is still biting on the trophy]
• Gary: [runs off] Meow!
• [Mrs. Puff runs after Gary with the saltshaker. The audience gasps. Mrs. Puff screams and shoots more salt at Gary.]
• Gary: Meow! [jumps twice to dodge the salt, and continues to run away]
• Mrs. Puff: [breaks through a tree, leaving behind a hole in her shape] [shoots salt at a coral tree, and breaking through it] Hold still, you vegetable stealing vermin!
• Gary: [fearfully] Meow!
• Mrs. Puff: [laughs maniacally and aims the saltshaker at Gary]
• Gary: Meow! Meow! [dodges the salt being shot at him]
• Mrs. Puff: [pants and accidentally runs off a cliff] Huh? [lowers her foot to see she is in mid-air] [frantically tries to run back but falls down, grabbing onto a ledge; her saltshaker falls off the cliff] No! Help!
• Gary: [looking down at Mrs. Puff] Meow?
• Mrs. Puff: [groans] Mama always said I'd go out like this. Oh, well. Better than being dragged back to prison. Okay, snail! Do your worst!
• Gary: Meow. [creates a lasso out of his slime, and uses it to pull Mrs. Puff up; he pants when he is done]
• Mrs. Puff: [groans]
• SpongeBob: Mrs. Puff! [Mrs. Puff screams and inflates, launching slime at SpongeBob] Huh? [inhales slime, sighs]
• Gary: [off-screen] Meow.
• SpongeBob: [picking up Gary] Gary! Oh, I'm so glad you're both okay! Whoo!
• Mrs. Puff: SpongeBob, your snail rescued me!
• SpongeBob: Well, of course he did! Gary's my friend, and you're my friend, Mrs. Puff. And you know the saying, [wraps arm around her] "Friends don't let friends fall to their doom." Isn't that right, Gary?
• Gary: [happily] Meow. [licks SpongeBob's face, who licks him back]
• SpongeBob: [laughs]
• [Bubble transition to night, where campers are sat down at a table with vegetables. Gary is at the other end.]
• Mrs. Puff: [using microphone] I'd like to welcome you to this after-picnic luau in honor of my new friend: Gary the snail!
• [The campers cheer and applaud.]
• Mrs. Puff: [using microphone] From now on, my garden is open to campers and snails alike.
• [The campers cheer and applaud again.]
• Mrs. Puff: Tomato, Gary? [Gary eats the tomato] [laughs]
• [The other campers eat their vegetables.]
• Mr. Krabs: Ah, it does this sailor's heart good to see new friendships forged out of old enemities. Hmm? [he sees Patrick peeking from a coral tree]
• Patrick: [tiptoes to the table and gets excited seeing the vegetables]
• Mr. Krabs: [pointing, yelling] Oh, no, you don't, stranger! No freebies here!
• Patrick: I don't want freebies! I just want food for free!
• Mr. Krabs: [screams, running after Patrick, who runs away with some vegetables] [runs over the vegetables, splattering it all over] No kerchief, nothing! Now come back here so I can kick you out!
