Burger-Beard the Pirate made his first appearance as the hidden main antagonist in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. His evil plot in the movie was to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Recipe so he can add it to the sacred book that he possesses. In this sacred book, every evil plan he writes down comes true and the secret recipe completes the book in order for this to happen. It is up to SpongeBob and friends to stop him and rewrite the story.

Burger-Beard is not well liked among the SpongeBob fandom, due to not being a very interesting character.
