Earth

The earth, also known as SpongeBob's world, is the third planet from the Sun and the overall main setting in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. It is a lush and beautiful planet in SpongeBob's universe, and it is a similar version of the real earth. SpongeBob's world is inhabited by humans, various creatures and anthropomorphic, the planet is the place that contains many real life locations and the Pacific Ocean, home to Bikini Bottom, where the sea creatures live.

In-universe locations

• United States of America (America)- Numerous humans who have appeared in the series live here, like Encino in Los Angeles where Patchy the Pirate and Potty the Parrot live. Sandy Cheeks and her family grew up in Texas which is located here.
• Mexico - SpongeBob and Patrick visit Mexico in "Mexico 1" and "Mexico 2."
• Brazil - SpongeBob and Patrick visit Brazil in "Brazil 1" and "Brazil 2."
• Egypt - Clamu's crying in "The Smoking Peanut" can be heard all the way to the Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Giza. Template:Data:Links also visits this location in "Shrinking Stars."
• France - SpongeBob and Patrick visit France in "France 1" and "France 2." This is likely where the French Narrator came from.
• Germany - SpongeBob and Patrick visit Germany in "Germany 1" and "Germany 2." In "Sold!," Squidward pretends that a German family called the Fishtraps has moved into SpongeBob's home.
• The Netherlands - Clamu's crying in "The Smoking Peanut" can be heard all the way from here. Also, the country is the namesake of the Flying Dutchman.
• Russia - SpongeBob and Patrick visit Russia in "Russia 1" and "Russia 2."
• Spain - SpongeBob and Patrick visit Spain in "Spain 1" and "Spain 2."
• Sweden - This is where the fictional Swedish Barnacle Balls are named after.
• Switzerland - In "One Krabs Trash," Mr. Krabs passes off a broken umbrella as the umbrella of the "Queen of Switzerland." A customer corrects Mr. Krabs by saying that Switzerland doesn't have a queen.
• United Kingdom - SpongeBob and Patrick visit the United Kingdom in "UK 1" and "UK 2."
  • Scotland - This is the home of Sandy's Scottish cousin. SpongeBob and Patrick also visit Loch Ness to find the Loch Ness Monster in "Scavenger Pants."
• India - This is where the video "Bollywood Bob" takes place. Also, Clamu's crying in "The Smoking Peanut" can be heard all the way to the Taj Mahal.
• Australia - SpongeBob and Patrick visit this country in "Australia 1" and "Australia 2." The Great Barrier Reef also makes an appearance in "A SquarePants Family Vacation."
• Marshall Islands - Bikini Atoll is located here as well as the Bikini Bottom being located underneath the Bikini Atoll.
• Bora Bora - Squidward attempts to take a vacation to Bora Bora Bottom in "Plane to Sea."
• The Arctic - In "Out of the Picture," Squidward goes here to deliver a Krabby Patty to a whale.
• Pacific Ocean - The Pacific Ocean is where Bikini Bottom is located.
• Mariana Trench - It is mentioned in SpongeBob SquarePants Typing. Also, SpongeBob and Patrick went there to find the Boxing Begonia in "Scavenger Pants."
• Great Pacific garbage patch - An area on the Pacific Ocean filled with garbage. SpongeBob encounters "King Neptune" here in "High Sea Diving."

  • First in the title card of "Lost in Couch."
  • Second in the ending of "Fun & Done!" when Andrew Fishman's fun comes out when he is going home with his mom.
  • It was also sentient in "Sandy, Help Us!"
