He's responsible for creating most of the musical numbers for certain episodes, especially the specials, including "The Sponge Who Could Fly," "Pest of the West," and "Atlantis SquarePantis." Schletter also composed and performed "I Wrote This" from "Sing a Song of Patrick."

Outside of SpongeBob, Schletter contributed music to such television shows as Mr. Show with Bob and David (which starred Tom Kenny and his wife, Jill Talley), Cousin Skeeter, The Osborne Family Christmas Special, the NBC/DreamWorks animated comedy Father of the Pride, writing the musical numbers for The Ellen DeGeneres Show episode "Ellen The Musical" and musical numbers for certain episodes of Drawn Together. He also composed for films such as Run Ronnie Run, Dumb and Dumber: When Harry Met Lloyd.

He has been married to Kris McGaha since October 5, 2002. They have two children.
