Production
The episode was confirmed by Rob Paulsen, who is guest starring as a voice actor, on April 10, 2019.[1] According to the episode's script, it will contain multiple parts.[2] According to Brian Morante, this is a double-length episode.

- This episode was originally titled "Escape From Beneath Glove World."[3]
- This will be the first 22-minute/double-length episode to premiere after Stephen Hillenburg's lifetime.
- This will be the first episode to premiere in 2020 and the 2020s decade.
- This is the first episode to show the underneath of Glove World!
- This is the second time that the location Glove World! is used in an episode title. The first was "Glove World R.I.P." in season 8.
