- This episode was initially titled "Funbelievable."
- This episode's title is a portmanteau of the words "fun" and "unbelievable."
- This episode will be Rube's third major role in the series after "No Pictures Please" and "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout."
- This will be the second SpongeBob episode to have an accidental early premiere (in which an episode mistakenly debuts early as if it was a typical rerun.) The first Nicktoon to ever do this was The Fairly OddParents! episode "Freaks & Greeks," which was set to air during a premiere week at 4:00pm on September 30, 2009, but instead aired on July 11 of that year at 8:15am.[2]
