Filthy Muck is a character who appears in the episodes "The Ballad of Filthy Muck" and "Goofy Scoopers."

Description

He is an entity made of green filth. He has a banana peel on top of his head, a sock, a bone, strands of hair, and two leaves are visible on his body. His shape is similar to Patrick's, which makes SpongeBob believe he is Patrick covered in grime.

Role in series

"The Ballad of Filthy Muck"

SpongeBob thinks Filthy Muck is Patrick, so he decides to cover himself in filth as well and name himself "Little Yuck." The Bikini Bottomites form an angry mob against Filthy Muck's stench and want him out of town. SpongeBob defends Filthy Muck, stating that he is his best friend. However, it is revealed that Filthy Muck is not Patrick, but rather an entity made of filth, and the real Patrick went home to take a bath because of his filth preventing him from entering the Krusty Krab.

"Goofy Scoopers"

He makes a cameo at The Dump when SpongeBob and Patrick are looking for the Goofy Scoopers.

Trivia

• The way he reforms seems to be directly based on Frosty the Snowman.
• Filthy Muck only says one word, "Yummy!", throughout his entire appearance. For the rest of the episode, he is mute, except for his giggling and mumbling.
  • Filthy Muck not saying a single word once SpongeBob is around gives a foreshadowing that he's not Patrick.
