Synopsis

Template:Data:Links is cooking Krabby Patties when Template:Data:Links and a labor authority officer come in. Mr. Krabs explains that SpongeBob must take a five-minute break or else he will get fined. SpongeBob sees dirt on a table and cleans it up, and Mr. Krabs tells him that he cannot work on his break. The labor authority author starts to fine Mr. Krabs, so he uncovers an employee break room.

SpongeBob is excited about the break room and makes a carousel out of hot dogs, then puts it in the microwave. He surfs on a chair in front of a wave poster, and then eats expired leftovers from the fridge. SpongeBob then makes a band out of various objects and starts playing music, which attracts the customers into the break room.

Mr. Krabs notices that the Krusty Krab is empty and finds everyone dancing in the break room, including the labor authority officer. He interrupts it to tell SpongeBob that his break is over. The officer agrees to not fine Mr. Krabs, and SpongeBob is excited for his next break in 20 years.

Mr. Krabs covers up the break room. SpongeBob goes back to the kitchen, but notices Squidward missing. It is then revealed that Squidward is taking a break in the break room.

General

When this episode first aired, it was paired up with "Mind the Gap."
- Due to this episode being a short, there was a 10 minute commercial break before "Mind the Gap" and Nickelodeon aired the shorts "Frozen Krabby Patty" and "What Else Can a Krabby Patty Do?"
Despite the plot, SpongeBob has actually taken a break before, like in "Hooky," "Jellyfish Hunter," and "Bummer Vacation."
- So this episode must take place before those episodes.
This episode is only six minutes long, due to its sister episode being over 15 minutes long.
The title is similar to "Ditchin'."
SpongeBob only needs one five-minute break every twenty years. This is a reference to the fact that the show was celebrating its twentieth anniversary the year this episode premiered.
Gale has the voice of a much older woman in this episode, sounding slightly similar to Mrs. Puff.
When Mr. Krabs yelled "SpongeBob what are you doing?" it sounded similar to the way he yelled it in "The Krusty Slammer."

-One fine day in Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs and some fish comes into the kitchen to see SpongeBob. Krabs said this is an employee from the ministry of labor protection. The employee said that SpongeBob did not go for a break for as long as 20 years, and he needed to take a break every 20 years. Then Mr. Krabs has to let SpongeBob go on a five-minute rest so that he is not provided with an account. SpongeBob then sat down at a table in Krusty Krab and patiently waited 5 minutes, trying not to think about work. But suddenly he notices a stain on the table and wipes it. Krabs yells at him and sends him to a special place - a room for employees, where they could rest on a break, which was located behind the wall of the Krusty Krab. Then SpongeBob went there and began to think what to do. He gathered an army of all kinds of unnecessary things and began to play. But he began to think about work again. Then SpongeBob began to play on the microwave, like a guitar. Visitors to Krusty Krab and the employee from the Ministry of Labor Protection heard this. They all began to anneal in the office room. But Eugene came in and said that 5 minutes had already passed. Then everyone left the room, and Krabs walled him up until the next break in 20 years. Well, SpongeBob looked at the cash register and did not see Squidward there. Later we were shown a shot of Squidward annealing in a tightly walled office room, without suspecting it. Squidward begins to rest in the employee break room.
