Template:Person Brian Levine (born November 22, 1963; age Template:Age), known professionally as Brian Robbins, is an American actor, director, producer, and occasional screenwriter. In 2018, he became the current president of Paramount Global's Nickelodeon division. He replaced Cyma Zarghami, who had worked at Nick for most of her career since 1985. In 2024, he became Co-CEO of all of Paramount Global.[1] Since his hiring, Robbins has managed various promotions for the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
Unhappy that SpongeBob "always stayed the same,"[2] Robbins and several staff members of the show came up with multiple ideas for spin-off shows and new characters. He announced the first, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, in June 2019, just months after the passing of series creator Stephen Hillenburg.[3]
Biography
He first worked as an actor and director. He is the current president of Viacom's Nickelodeon division. He is also one of the creators of the sketch show All That.
In February 2019, Robbins announced that the network would produce multiple spin-off shows of the SpongeBob series, the first being a show about a younger version SpongeBob at summer camp called Kamp Koral.[4]
Trivia
- Robbins has compared SpongeBob SquarePants to the Marvel Universe, so he wants to continue to market and extend the franchise after the show ends by making multiple spin-off shows and introducing new characters.[3]
