General
- This episode is Slappy's second appearance in the franchise, with his first being in "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout."
- The porpoise says Bad Word #11 to Squidina towards the end of the episode, referencing "Sailor Mouth."
- Also, Squidina breaks the fourth wall by telling the porpoise that this is a family show.
- "My leg!:" Fred said this six times in the show Noir-sense when in interrogation, and he also accidentally slams the door on his leg when he leaves the scene.
- The "Opportunity" rainbow is a reference to the "Imagination" rainbow from "Idiot Box".
- The title is a reference to the episode "Bummer Vacation".
