Synopsis
Patrick is trying to find his true purpose. Later, Patrick and SpongeBob are trying to find a job, while Squidward is trying to collect the newspaper money from Cecil Star.

- This episode is Slappy's second appearance in the franchise, with his first being in "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout."
- The porpoise says Bad Word #11 to Squidina towards the end of the episode, referencing "Sailor Mouth."
- Also, Squidina breaks the fourth wall by telling the porpoise that this is a family show.
- "My leg!:" Fred said this six times in the show Noir-sense when in interrogation, and he also accidentally slams the door on his leg when he leaves the scene.
- This is the first episode of The Patrick Star Show to have a time card.
- The "Opportunity" rainbow is a reference to the "Imagination" rainbow from "Idiot Box."
- SpongeBob is once again mistaken for a box of cereal, like he was in "As Seen on TV."
