Brief summary: Plankton makes his new evil lair in a beautiful underground cave which could run the Krusty Krab out of business.

Plot

While spying on Krabs, Plankton finds out that Mr. Krabs keeps the Krabby Patty Secret Formula under the floorboards, so Plankton tries to dig under the Krusty Krab to obtain the secret formula. While digging, he hits a rock midway between the Krusty Krab and the Chum Bucket. Plankton tunnels under the rock and discovers a beautiful underground cave and he uses it for a new restaurant that actually attracts customers. The cave dwellers there try to attack Plankton In the caves, but Plankton tames them to work for him as employees. The new restaurant . In those caves, the scenery is so amazing that the customers pay no mind to the quality of the food. There is also a gift shop there. Once Mr. Krabs finds out about this, he digs down to cave level to stop Plankton. The two go into a digging battle, making each other fall into a pit made by the other. While doing this, they become trapped underground for fifteen minutes until Spongebob rescues them. Plankton then uses a jackhammer to dig to the Krusty Krab, but ends up making the restaurant cave in causing the Chum Caverns, along with the Krusty Krab and all it's customers, and Plankton to fall to another cave and become trapped again. Mr Krabs takes advantage of this situation by making a profit off of the "hostage customers".

Trivia/Goofs

This episode reveals the name of the light tan little girl fish with blue lips and pink skirt--Susie. (The captions make it spelled "Suzy".)
There is a one-minute clip of this episode on the SpongeBob site on Nickelodeon.
When the narrator cried when reading the "15 Minutes Later", this is a 4th wall break. The other times a time card broke the 4th wall is Wet Painters and Can You Spare a Dime?. This may also reference Gullible Pants.
Two clips from this episode were on the Deep Sea Danger Zone commercial, but it did not premiere during the week. It was planned to air as the fourth premiere, but was changed to Squid's Visit.
This is the second time Karen is seen crying. The first was Single Cell Anniversary but it was diifferent.
During one part where Mr. Krabs and Plankton are digging underground, it is a reference to the classic Namco arcade game Dig Dug, when they keep going under each other to make the other one fall.
This episode has the same opening theme music as The Splinter.
When Mr. Krabs and Plankton were crying, for 15 minutes, how can they have a beard after 15 minutes of crying?
- It's a cartoon, anything is possible.
There is a big boulder below the road, but in Plankton's Army there is a sewer.
