The Chum famine of '59 was a famine that most likely had taken place in 1959. Mr. Krabs had referenced this in the episode "Hooky," stating that no employee of the Krusty Krab had taken a break since then. However, this was disproved in "Friend or Foe," as Mr. Krabs and Plankton were clearly making and eating chum when this famine supposedly happened.
