Paul Tibbit describes this in the Comic Con Interview of 2011, revealing two new specials in the future including a Christmas Special for 2012, Paul Tibbit explains that it's the beginning of a big vacation with SpongeBob and Patrick getting it started before it takes "a turn for the stupid". SpongeBob's parents will also make an appearance.
