Synopsis

The episode begins with a tired SpongeBob and Squidward exiting the Krusty Krab, and Mr. Krabs asks them their plans for the weekend. SpongeBob says he is polishing Gary's shell, and Squidward says he has a dance performance. Mr. Krabs invites them to Goo Lagoon to ride on a yacht instead, to which both accept. The next day, SpongeBob and Squidward arrive at Goo Lagoon, and Squidward questions where the yacht is. Krabs tells them that the yacht has to be built first, saying that SpongeBob and Squidward will build it, and he will "supervise," really taking a nap. Squidward takes off the steering wheel before they build the yacht's frame, and Squidward says "let's get this on with.", then Squidward tries to look for the instructions to builld a yacht, SpongeBob implies that he'll "find it", but too many objects hit Squidward, after that, SpongeBob has found the instructions, Squidward tells him to give it him, but the instructions fly out of his hands, trying to get it back, but the instructions fly into Grubby Grouper's boat engine propeller, Squidward fails to get it, but SpongeBob tells him not to worry, he tells him that he and Squidward needs follow, then throws the paper shavings after picking them up, then they begin building the yacht, SpongeBob made the yacht's standing post, but it falls onto Squidward, telling him to put up the mast first, but it falls onto Squidward, making him look like a hammer nail, then SpongeBob pulls him out with a large hammer, they start with the wooden planks, bend it then put it down, Squidward accidentally touches the wooden plank, causing him to get flung from it, SpongeBob tickles the wooden plank, making it laugh, then bend up, Squidward regrets that, but gets smacked again from the wooden plank. Many frame-building attempts later, they carry on trying to build the yacht, showing as if the yacht frame was not pre-made, SpongeBob says "we did it, Squidward! Put er there!", making Squidward hand shake him, but the yacht frame collapses, Squidward dances to dodge the planks, but he gets hit by the last one, hitting Mr. Krabs' beach umbrella, Squidward's head shows up from out of it, Mr. Krabs growls at Squidward and tells him what he was doing, then he uses the plank to bonk his head a bit, Squidward implies that he and SpongeBob was trying to build the yacht's frame, then Mr. Krabs takes out the pre-made yacht frame, SpongeBob gasps and Mr. Krabs tells him to "take a look into it", causing the pre-made yacht frame to go in his mouth, and stretch out, SpongeBob salutes Mr. Krabs, then he says "now, get back to work!", Mr. Krabs puts his umbrella back up, Squidward got stuck on top of it, Squidward and SpongeBob carry on building the yacht with the pre-made frame. General

• This episode was originally scheduled to premiere on Friday, November 18, 2022 in the United States at 7:00 PM, but it instead briefly got replaced with the premiere of the Monster High episode "Werewolf Weekend" before being replaced again with the premiere of the 2021 Nickelodeon film PAW Patrol: The Movie.
  • In Latin America and Brazil, this episode was also originally going to air on November 16, 2022, but was replaced with an airing of "Squidferatu." However, the episode was later rescheduled and premiered on the 18th in Brazil.
• The title card for this episode is similar to that of "Patrick the Mailman," except this one is on a pirate ship instead of a mailbox.
• SpongeBob's blue swim trunks make a return in this episode, having not been seen for 16 years since "Hocus Pocus."
• It took 11 years for the track "On The Beach" to play in a higher pitch since "Home Sweet Rubble" in 2012.
• This is the first episode to use the original version of the track "Peg Leg Waltz" since "Salsa Imbecilicus."

• When SpongeBob and Squidward meet Mr. Krabs outside of the Krusty Krab at night, Squidward dances in the same fashion that he does in "Culture Shock."
  • This is the second episode to reference this dance, after "Pat Hearts Squid."
    • Although the dance was also referenced in the credits for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

• After SpongeBob wipes Squidward's face clean, he looks somewhat similar to his baby self from "Squid Baby."
  • SpongeBob also wipes his own face clean to a nice-looking effect in another episode from this season, "There Will Be Grease."
• Two kids are seen playing in the orca kid's mouth, like they did in "SpongeGuard on Duty." The kids were Incidental 103 and Incidental 150 in "SpongeGuard on Duty" while in this episode the kids were Incidental 103 and Incidental 153.
• Squidward's vacation outfit in this episode is based on the one he wears at the end of "Plane to Sea."
• Incidental 46's seashell bra and sunglasses wearing variant from "Bubble Buddy" returns in this episode.
• Incidental 22, Loser 2, and Loser 3 can be seen hanging out at the beach together which references their role as playing together in the Beach Band in "Ripped Pants." Although Incidental 22 took the appearance of her normal variant instead of taking the appearance as Loser 1.
• The eel could also be seen eating ice cream, referencing his role in "Walking Small."

• When Squidward is hooked up from the sea by Mr. Krabs, he looks similar to a blobfish when it's taken out of the water.
  • Squidward (as well as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs) also breathe the same way he does in the season 2 episode, "Pressure."
• The kraken has the appearance and mannerisms of stand-up comedian Rodney Dangerfield.
