Plot
It is closing time at the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob is listening to a song called "Musical Doodle" on the radio and keeps singing it, annoying Squidward. He floats out of the restaurant and lands outside a record shop. He buys the record, goes home, opens Gary's shell (revealing a record player) and plays it until night. When he is sleeping, he starts whistling the tune. He decides to go back downstairs and listens to the song again. At work, Mr. Krabs talks to him and starts day-dreaming that Mr. Krabs is singing the song. He tells SpongeBob to control himself and to not sing it. SpongeBob finds it really hard to not sing the song.
While giving out Krabby Patties, he sings the song and annoys the customers and leave. Mr. Krabs is in his office, sleeping on a stack of coins. He comes out and asks the customers what happened. They all blame SpongeBob and Mr Krabs warns him again to stop singing the song, and tells SpongeBob that if there is one more complaint, he would send SpongeBob home. In the kitchen, mouths form on his back and they start singing. He covers them with buns. It then shows SpongeBob in a wrecked kitchen, with "DOODLE" written on the wall. He goes out and starts walking home crazily, singing the song. Sandy, Patrick and Mr. Krabs follow him and tie him to a chair. Sandy explains that he has an earworm, which is when a worm gets stuck in someone's head and keeps the song in their head. It can only be cured if another song gets stuck in their head. All three of them sing a song to get it stuck in SpongeBob's head but nobody succeeds. Sandy explains that someone with "musical talent" can cure him. Squidward comes and starts playing his clarinet badly. The "earworm" gets annoyed and leaves SpongeBob's head. Then Squidward is shown sleeping, praising himself. In the end, it shows that Squidward now has the earworm.
