Plot

Plankton is sick of his computer "wife" Karen, Plankton spots Mrs. Krabs and falls in love with her. Plus, he turns off Karen. Convinced that this just another trick aimed at getting the family formula for Krabby Patties (which was not), Krabs tries to reveal Plankton's schemes and break up the ill-favored fling. Krabs decides to break up that fishy relationship before he winds up with the world's tiniest stepfather and before Plankton finally gets the secret formula for Krabby Patties. While accusing Plankton for the "scheme" he reveals to Plankton that his mother (Mrs.Krabs) knew the secret recipie giving Plankton an opportunity. But, the robot (Plankton had created) causes the downfall of their relationship and finds out about Plankton's scheme after he tells her. Then he gets flung out of the Krusty Krab by her and Karen gets turned back on as he bounces off the "on" button.

• In German, this episode is called "Wo die liebe fallt" which means "Where the love falls".
• This is the second time Spongebob has been a waiter. The first time was Squilliam Returns.
• During the marriage, Plankton says that Mr. Krabs is going to be his new son despite the fact that they're not blood-related. This means Plankton meant to say that Mr. Krabs is going to be his new stepson.
• Betsy Krabs showing her muscle and in it being a battleship is a reference to the Popeye cartoons.
• Betsy Krabs tells Plankton that she is not ready for marriage commitment, despite her having an already old son and a granddaughter.
• Mr. Krabs said that the formula was passed down through the family, but in Friend Or Foe, Plankton and Mr. Krabs made the formula together
• In Friend or Foe it is revealed that Plankton and Mr. Krabs grew up together, so it is very unlikely that Plankton hasn't met Eugene's mother earlier.
• The title card is similar to the episodes Welcome to the Chum Bucket and Skill Crane.
• 40th time Patrick doesn't appear.
• This is the first time that Eugene's door is not shown.
• This is one of the few episodes where Spongebob is not the main character.
• Betsy Krabs has a Scottish accent, where Mr. Krabs has an entirely different accent altogether.
• Probably one of the reasons why "Krusty Love" wasn't chosen was because it conflicted with an episode of the same name from the second season.
• During the scene that Plankton is kicked out of the Krusty Krab by Mama Krabs, he quotes the poem "In Memoriam" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
• When Mrs. Krabs says "am i really that pretty?", Plankton is shown watching her through an arcade-system like machine.
• Second time Plankton struggles to use the phone.
• When Plankton walks in to the Krusty Krab with the rose, there is a burger sticker on the window. But once he's inside, it's no longer there. This happens a few seconds later when Mrs. Eugene walks in. This also happens in The Krabby Kronicle.
• This episode is controversial, since it involves Plankton seeing another woman when he already has a wife, in effect, cheating on Karen. However, since Karen is a computer, the rules of marriage might be different.
• Like before, in F.U.N., Plankton is more concerned about a relationship with another character than getting the Krabby Patty recipe. In F.U.N., he genuinely wanted to be friends with Spongebob. This time, he wanted to marry Mama Krabs. Both times, the relationship is ruined when Plankton tries to get the recipe.
• It is unknown what happened to Plankton's robot after this episode, or how its relationship with Mama Krabs worked out.
• Ironically, Mama Krabs prefers a relationship with a machine, just as Plankton went for Karen, a computer.
• Karen zaps Plankton when she's angry with him. She would do this to him again when he sends her to the frozen tundra in Frozen Face-Off.
• If Plankton and Mr. Krabs are about the same age, that means Mama Krabs is much older than Plankton.

Errors

• In a couple scenes, Mr. Krabs's office door is not seen.
• When Mr. Krabs barges into the Chum Bucket in anger, some scenes show red pipes on the wall, but some don't.
• Plankton's phone is missing the number zero in this episode.
• i thought that the Krabby Patty patty is discovered serendipitously, and not an "old Krabs family recipe"
