Synopsis
The episode begins with Mr. Krabs making SpongeBob work for Old Man Jenkins at his farm so he can pay his grocery bill. He also sends Patrick to help SpongeBob do his chores.
Their tasks are to get eggs from oysters, feed the worm hogs, milk Ol' Bessy, and harvest Old Man Jenkins' field of kelp. They finish all these chores and after they get off the tractor due to finishing the last chore, SpongeBob and Patrick get excited for the barn dance.
However, the tractor is still running and crashes into the barn. In order to still have a barn dance, SpongeBob and Patrick raise a baby barn to a grown-up. After that, they have the barn dance, until some aliens arrive due to seeing an invitation made by the tractor on the crop field.
They hangout for a while until they have to leave to destroy the universe. Mr. Krabs arrives to pick SpongeBob and Patrick up, and as they are driving, they get abducted by a UFO.
Production
The episode was confirmed by Vincent Waller on August 7, 2018.[1]

Release
- This episode is available on SpongeBob SquarePants Vol. 20.
Trivia
General
- This is the only season 12 episode to premiere in 2018.
- This episode was originally titled "The Farm."[2]
- When this episode first aired, it was paired up with "Surf N' Turf," an episode from Template:Data:Links, but since it has re-airing with "Gary & Spot."[citation needed]
- Both episodes premiered in Remembrance Day.
- The pictures on SpongeBob and Patrick's badges are a reference to their poses from "Mid-Life Crustacean."
- The storyboard director credit is used again starting with this episode.
- Also starting with this episode, Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller are now credited as co-executive producers instead of supervising producers.
- This is the second time where Patrick is shown having a driving license. The first is "Driven to Tears."
- It’s revealed that Patrick has, besides the driver’s license, a fishing, a marriage, a tractor and a crop circle licenses.
Cultural references
- When SpongeBob poses next to Old Man Jenkins, it is a reference to the painting American Gothic.
- This is somewhat a parody of the cliché of aliens coming to a farm.
Errors
- When SpongeBob feeds the small Worm hog, he is outside of the fenced area, but in the next scene, he is inside the area.
- In an exterior nighttime shot of the barn, when the tractor drives by and everyone is dancing, the characters dancing is not looped correctly.
- When Mr. Krabs throws a bag of potatoes at SpongeBob, his tie is missing.
- When the first farm alien comes out, in the outhouse behind him, the other farm aliens are absent.
- After Patrick stops the tractor, it is not seen or heard mowing for anymore of the episode until the farm alien mentions it.
Running gags
- SpongeBob saying, "Oh boy!"
- Patrick showing off his licenses.
- Old Man Jenkins' tractor causing destruction.
