Synopsis

In the beginning of the episode, Mr. Krabs makes SpongeBob work for Old Man Jenkins at his farm so he can pay his grocery bill. He also sends Patrick to help SpongeBob do his chores.

Their tasks are to get eggs from oysters, feed the worm hogs, milk Ol' Bessy, and harvest Old Man Jenkins' field of kelp. They finish all these chores and after they get off the tractor due to finishing the last chore, SpongeBob and Patrick get excited for the barn dance.

However, the tractor is still running and crashes into the barn. In order to still have a barn dance, SpongeBob and Patrick raise a baby barn to a grown-up. After that, they have the barn dance, until some aliens arrive due to seeing an invitation made by the tractor on the crop field.

They hangout for a while until they have to leave to destroy the universe. Mr. Krabs arrives to pick SpongeBob and Patrick up, and as they are driving, they get abducted by a UFO, as the episode ends.

Trivia

General

  • This is the only season 12 episode to premiere in 2018.
    • This is also the only episode from season 12 to premiere during Stephen Hillenburg's lifetime.
  • This episode was originally titled "The Farm."[2]
  • When this episode first aired, it was paired up with "Surf N' Turf," an episode from Template:Data:Links, but since it has been re-airing with "Gary & Spot".[3]
    • Both episodes premiered on Remembrance Day.
    • This also makes this the only season 12 episode to be paired with a season 11 episode.
  • This is the first episode to use "Hillbilly Party" as the title card music since "Trenchbillies."
    • Coincidentally, both episodes use woods as the title card text and feature hillbilly-type characters.
  • The pictures on SpongeBob and Patrick's badges are a reference to their poses from "Mid-Life Crustacean."
  • The storyboard director credit is used again starting with this episode.
    • Also, starting with this episode, Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller are now credited as co-executive producers instead of supervising producers.
  • This is the second time where Patrick is shown to have a driving license. The first was "Driven to Tears."
  • This is the sixth episode where the German dub version has the exact same title card as the English version. The first episode was "Plankton!," the second was "F.U.N.," the third was "Texas," the fourth was "Club SpongeBob," and the fifth was "Patrick-Man!"
  • It is revealed that Patrick has, besides the driver's license, fishing, marriage, tractor, and crop circle licenses.
