Alternate-Universe SpongeBob is a character who is seen in the episodes "Squid's Day Off," "Something Smells," "The Algae's Always Greener," "Wet Painters," "Chimps Ahoy," "Ghost Host," "The Abrasive Side," and "SpongeBob LongPants." His best friend is Alternate-Universe Patrick.
History
Alternate-Universe SpongeBob first appears in the episode "Squid's Day Off," saying, "I will destroy the Krusty Krab!" as the result of Template:Data:Links's paranoia that Template:Data:Links will damage the Krusty Krab.
In "Something Smells," SpongeBob's breath smells so bad that his alternate-universe counterpart breaks the mirror. Patrick invented his own Universe in "Chimps Ahoy," but SpongeBob thought it was just a mirror.
Alternate SpongeBob's Universe might be the same one Template:Data:Links visited in "The Algae's Always Greener."
In "Wet Painters," Alternate-Universe SpongeBob is seen through Template:Data:Links' mirror when SpongeBob tries to figure out how to prevent Mr. Krabs from seeing the permanent paint he and Template:Data:Links got on his first dollar, but he leaves when Mr. Krabs comes home, then telling SpongeBob that he's on his own.
He also gets eaten by a monster in "Ghost Host" as part of a long string of jokes told by the Flying Dutchman to scare SpongeBob.
His most recent appearance is in "SpongeBob LongPants," where it is probably the same character that appears in "Wet Painters" and "Chimps Ahoy."
Relationships
Template:Data:Links (clone)
SpongeBob and Alternate-Universe SpongeBob are a lot alike. However, his alternate-universe counterpart acts more dramatic than usual in "The Algae's Always Greener." Contrary to the main-universe SpongeBob, Alternate-Universe SpongeBob appears to have a bit of a rude streak; in "Wet Painters," he refuses to help SpongeBob, and even breaks the mirror he's in upon smelling SpongeBob's rancid breath, alluding to suicide.
Patrick Star
Alternate-Universe SpongeBob is sort of nice to Patrick, saying his idea was pretty good in the only episode where they interacted.
Alternate-Universe Patrick
Alternate-Universe Patrick is a lot like Patrick, and Alternate-Universe SpongeBob is a lot like SpongeBob, so the viewer can assume they are best friends as well.
Quotes
- "You're on your own pall." to SpongeBob
- "Well, I thought it was a pretty good idea." to Patrick
- "I'm gonna make you eat those words, Krabs!" to Alternative-Universe Krabs
- "Eh, eh, eh..." to Alternate-Universe Plankton
- "I will destroy the Krusty Krab" to Squidward
- "NO SHIRT NO SHOES NO SERVICE!!!"
- "SOILED IT SOILED IT SOILED IT!!!"
Trivia
- Alternate-Universe SpongeBob has the most appearances out of all the alternate-universe characters.
- This is probably because he is the Alternate-Universe version of the character with the most appearances to date: SpongeBob SquarePants.
- Unlike most alternate-universe characters, Alternate-Universe SpongeBob isn't shown to be truly evil (though in "Squid's Day Off," he threatens to destroy the Krusty Krab).
- "The Algae's Always Greener" is the only episode to feature Alternate-Universe SpongeBob without the main-universe SpongeBob.
