— Anchovies, Various episodes
|
Template:Classification Anchovies are a large group of fish that have a variety of looks, but are normally thin. Their heads make up half of their bodies, with their eyes being at the very top of their heads. They mainly speak in "meep"s.
Biography
Some of them appear to go to Bikini Bottom High School, where they are loved and adored by teenage girls. The most well known anchovies are Incidental 114 and Incidental 115. Other known anchovies include a nerdy anchovy named Billy Fishkins, a handsome anchovy named Brian Flounder, and an overrated anchovy named Octavius Rex, whom Template:Data:Links once dated and is nicknamed "Long, Tan, and Handsome," even though the latter does not apply very well.
They usually only say "meep" and occasionally use English. Some of them are in the Jellyspotters, where they annoy Kevin C. Cucumber, often by repeating a weˈ sound in the episode "I'm Your Biggest Fanatic." They first appear in the pilot episode "Help Wanted," where they flood and almost completely destroy the Krusty Krab in pursuit of Template:Data:Links.
In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, they are shown greeting Template:Data:Links and Template:Data:Links as the two enter Atlantic City. They offer the duo cotton candy, ice cream, and churros. In this film, not only do they speak in full sentence but they also have a British accent.
They appear in Bikini Bottom often as citizens, but appear in the episodes "Help Wanted," "The Play's the Thing," and "Accidents Will Happen" in large, ravenous groups that will stop at nothing. They are known to attack if not pleased. They are often background characters, but in some episodes they have more major roles.
Communication system
The language of anchovies is very unique. They usually only say "meep," except for the episode "I'm Your Biggest Fanatic," where they are able to say a few other things. Some anchovies are able to talk normally, however. For example, Mable and her husband Lenny are anchovies who are able to speak normally instead of only saying "meep."
