This episode was unofficially confirmed following various audio and storyboard leaks from both SpongeBob spinoffs on December 9, 2022.

This episode was later officially confirmed on May 1, 2023.

This is the second episode of the franchise where the title starts with a number. The first is "20,000 Patties Under the Sea."
- This would make it the first episode of the franchise in alphabetical order if numbers and symbols were to come before "A."
This episode was initially supposed to premiere on August 23, 2023 at 1:00pm, later 5:00pm, but was later pulled for unknown reasons.
- On its new date, it was originally going to premiere at 5:00pm, but it was moved to 4:00pm.

The title of the episode is a parody of the 1961 animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
