Character

The sports guy[1] is a fish who works at Goo Lagoon and Oyster Stadium as a sportscaster. He appears in three episodes: "Ripped Pants," "MuscleBob BuffPants," and "The Great Snail Race." He has not made an appearance since Template:Data:Links because he was replaced by Perch Perkins.

Description

He is an adult male fish with a black toupee, visible gills, and a long, spiky dorsal fin. He wears a suit with a tie. In season one, he is dark blue with a lighter blue front. In season three, he is light green. He is always shown at a desk and is only seen from the waist up.

History

The sports guy first appears in "Ripped Pants" as the announcer of the surfing competition at Goo Lagoon. He groans when Template:Data:Links decides to rip his pants while surfing.

He makes a second appearance in "MuscleBob BuffPants" as the announcer for the Anchor Toss. He asks for some mustard on his hot dog before realizing that his microphone is on.

His final appearance is in "The Great Snail Race" as the commentator for the race. He leaves the door to his booth open. A fan, Nat Peterson, walks in and starts commentating before the sports guy returns, saying "Hey!" and shooing Nat away.

Trivia

  • Season 2 episode 4 of Bikini Bottom Mysteries states that he and Perch Perkins are actually the same fish, and that Perch had plastic surgery done on him at some point, as well as changing his colors.
