Barney is a citizen of Bikini Bottom. His most prominent role is working at Inferno Island as a prison guard. He first appears in the episode "The Inmates of Summer."
Description
He is light orange and wears a red suit with yellow buttons and a black-striped red hat. He also has one tooth sticking out.

He assists the warden with the inmates.
"Giant Squidward"
He is Canadian and is seen wearing an outfit similar to a Mountie. He claims the citizens should skin Giant Template:Data:Links and make bacon.
"SpongeBob's Last Stand"
He is a bailiff and has a gavel bashed on his head.
"Pet the Rock"
He appears guarding the entrance to the Pet Park, making sure everyone has a pet before they can come in. He admits SpongeBob in when he shows Gary, but is hesitant to let Patrick in because his "pet" is a rock on a leash. Patrick demonstrates that his rock is a pet by having it hit Barney, who then decides to let Patrick in. Patrick drags the rock over Barney while going in.
Trivia
- In "Giant Squidward," Barney seems to really like bacon.
