It first aired on November 10, 2006 after a 24 hour marathon with the same title, along with The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. In February 1-2 2008, the Best Day Ever marathon will premiere on Nickelodeon in Australia.

Plot

The episode starts out with the song, "Best Day Ever." Afterward, SpongeBob's "Best Day Ever" does not turn out as he planned when he has to postpone his activities to help his friends with their problems. He wanted to work at the Krusty Krab, have some karate with Sandy, go jelly fishing with Patrick using his new high-tech jelly fishing net, and then go to Squidward's clarinet recital. First he ran over to the Krusty Krab, only to find that it was condemned due to a severe nematode infestation. SpongeBob led them away by playing the flute on his nose, which caused them to become hypnotized and fall asleep, like the story of the Pied Piper. He then goes to Sandy's tree dome for karate, but Sandy says that she is too busy with a leak in her dome that is letting water in. SpongeBob fixes it as he goes flying to the roof and his karate glove sticks to the crack. Afterward, he heads over to Jellyfish Fields to go jelly fishing with Patrick, but Patrick broke his net, and then broke SpongeBob's old net. SpongeBob gives Patrick his brand-new net, and had nothing to Jellyfish with. SpongeBob meets up with Squidward, who says that he cannot play in the concert because his clarinet reed is shot. Angry because most of his day is ruined, SpongeBob pulls out one of his teeth to replace the reed. Finally, SpongeBob goes to Squidward's concert, but the doorman will not let him in without a ticket, which he does not have. He tries various methods of sneaking in such as a fake SpongeBob marionette as a distraction, and cutting through the ceiling, but at last he is let in because he is on the VIP list. However, he gets in right as the concert ends. He is very mad that everything went wrong and gives a long and elaborate speech about how his Best Day Ever got ruined. But then, his friends tell him about how SpongeBob helped them with their problems out of his kindness and teach him it's not about "perfect days", it's about having friends. But to make it up to him, they hold a production in which SpongeBob performs his song, "The Best Day Ever", to complete his real Best Day Ever with his friends by his side. After a few hours SpongeBob is still singing, but his friends are tired and sleepy.

Trivia/Goofs

• At the part where spongebob was saying the best parts in his Day, when he was say And ill unvale my Most prized Possition,The deluxe Jelly-Fisher com palset pro.That jelly Fishing net was Seen in The Pink Purloiner With a diffrent handle and scratched up and disguised as OL' Reliable
• This episode aired in the United States before Germany, when most season 4 episodes aired in Germany first.
• On The Complete 4th season Volume 2 DVD, there are bonus shorts (A Random Act of SpongeBob shorts) and a karaoke music video using episodes of SpongeBob.
• At the theater, SpongeBob was explaining how he was having his best day ever. When he said he was going jellyfishing with Patrick, Patrick forgot what he was going to say. When Squidward told SpongeBob the concert would be ruined if SpongeBob hasen't fixed his clarinet, Sandy's tail is white. It then switches to a different point of view, and her tail is brown again.
• During SpongeBob's play, you can see a poorly painted "Krusty Krab" sign. After he flips the patty on the fake grill, the sign changes to "K.K." which is a refernce to Animal Crossing's K.K. that appears every Animal Crossing Saturday in the series.
• This episode has never aired in the Netherlands, also "The Gift of Gum" has never aired.
• Ed, Edd, n Eddy, one of Cartoon Network's most popular shows had parodied the marathon by Best Day Ed-Der, but only lasted for a few hours.
• Squidward's band uniform is a reference to Sgt. Pepper.
• This episode marked the end of the Lowercase/Uppercase Captioning. All uppercase captioning was used in this episode, including the brackets. The first Season, including "Something Smells" and "Bossy Boots" from Season Two used all-Uppercase captioning, except when in the explanation brackets.
• The door pads are replaced into handles.
• This is the second episode nematodes are seen,the first was Home Sweet Pineapple.
• SpongeBob had also said Best Day Ever in other episodes (this is a goof remark)
  • No Weenies Allowed, he said "This is the happiest day of my life!"
  • SpongeBob Squarepants The Movie, he said "Manager?! This is the greatest day of my life!"
  • The Smoking Peanut, he said "This is the greatest day of my life!"
