Description
Its most notable landmarks are the three trees that inhabit one side of the island. It appears small, but in reality, it is much larger and appears small because of an optical illusion.[1]
On the other side of the island there is a forest filled with an array of wild life and a skeleton who formerly guarded the Magic Book.[1]

Bikini Atoll was a site of more than 20 nuclear weapons tests by the United States, between 1946 and 1958, including the first test of a practical hydrogen bomb in 1954. Jack, a.k.a. Big Boss, was stationed at the American base on Kwajalein on March 1, 1954, during the "Bravo Shot," the most powerful nuclear device ever detonated by the United States, with a yield of 15 megatons of TNT.
In-Series History
It has been around for millennia. The trees that inhabit the island have had its ancestors there when it was prehistoric times.[2]
At one point, Davy Jones either was on the island or at least had the Magic Book which formerly resided on the island.[1]
Trivia
- In "Big Pink Loser," the island was featured when Patrick jumped out of the water to tell about "his" newly attained award, only to almost suffocate from lack of water moments later.
- The island is seen in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie when Hasselhoff arrives with both SpongeBob and Patrick to bring them back to Bikini Bottom.
- The island appeared in "Truth or Square" when Patchy the Pirate went looking for SpongeBob, who didn't arrive at his TV Extravaganza.
- Bikini Atoll was an island that was used for nuclear bomb testing in the 40s and 50s.
- Beginning with "Lame and Fortune," a CGI model of the island will be used instead of the filmed island.[3]
- In night shots of the island, a human finger is visible in the water right below the island. This is because the island was originally shot in Tom Kenny's pool.
