- The special was announced on Nick.com in late July 2008.
- Grooming Gary was supposed to air on Thursday and Boating Buddies was supposed to air on Friday, but for an unknown reason, Grooming Gary was pushed back to the Superstuffed Nicksgiving Weekend, Boating Buddies aired one day early, and Nickelodeon unveiled another new episode: The Krabby Kronicle.
