SpongeBob first learns of the parade from a flier posted on the [[Krusty Krab]]. When he tells Mr. Krabs, he is initially uninterested, but learns he could promote the restaurant with a float. He tasks Squidward with designing a float and SpongeBob to build one. SpongeBob spends all night building the float. He also included a bottle on top of the float and even wrote the [[Krabby Patty secret formula|Krabby Patty formula]] on it.
