Character

The Bikini Bottom Sanitation Police is a part of the Bikini Bottom Police Department. They are given the assignment to keep Bikini Bottom free from an unhealthy environment. They appear in the episode "Sentimental Sponge."

Description

Uniform

Their uniforms are the same as the standard police ones, but they wear green shades and their baton is visible. Other officers have batons, just not showing. They drive the same vehicle as the normal police officers do.

Equipment

This specific branch of the police appears to have the same equipment as ordinary police. A loudspeaker and "Do Not Cross" tape are seen along with visible batons on their waist. The vehicle appears to look advanced and heavily customized for their work.

Role in episode

The Sanitation Police officers arrive at Template:Data:Links's house to condemn it, as it is a threat to public health due to being bombarded with garbage. However, Template:Data:Links is condemned as well due to SpongeBob's junk finding its way in. The police give SpongeBob one choice: to evacuate the pineapple or get rid of the junk.

SpongeBob chooses the latter, which makes Squidward's happy that he will no longer have any trash surrounding his house before he goes back to bed, but first SpongeBob decides to take pictures of the garbage to preserve his memories, which makes Squidward angry again as he ends up taking so many pictures that they flood Squidward's house once more.

The officers have a habit of talking through the loudspeaker in front of Squidward, making a running gag in the episode.
One of the officers looks very similar to Officer Slugfish.
