Plot

Mr. Krabs announces the Krusty Krab's new, extended business hours of 6 A.M. to 11 P.M., when he notices that Plankton is advertising the Chum Bucket restaurant being open 23 hours a day. To be better than Plankton, Mr. Krabs declares that the Krusty Krab is now open 24 hours a day. Squidward is, of course, furious at this, but SpongeBob is happy to be working non-stop.

At the Chum Bucket, Plankton reveals his plan to make SpongeBob lose his mind from exhaustion and tricking into revealing the secret formula to him. However, SpongeBob is enjoying his new 24 hour shift, and when Plankton notices that he is not getting tired, he places an order of 10,000 Krabby Patties under the name "Peter Lankton". SpongeBob is at first thrilled upon receiving this order, but as time goes by, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and SpongeBob all begin to lose their minds from their lack of sleep, and soon SpongeBob is unable to work, and starts hallucinating everyone as giant patties. Soon, SpongeBob develops a fear of all Krabby Patties.

Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that he needs to see a psychiatrist, when they suddenly receive a flyer for "Dr. Peter Lankton, Psychiatrist Specializing in Krabby Patty-Phobias." Mr. Krabs sends SpongeBob to Dr. Peter Lankton's office, which is actually the Chum Bucket in disguise, where he meets Plankton there who is disguised as a psychiatrist. SpongeBob tells Plankton about what his problem is, and Plankton tells him that they are going to do some exercises, which are in reality intended to make SpongeBob tell him the formula. However, Plankton is unable to get the formula out of SpongeBob, whose mental condition is worse than he had expected, and eventually resorts to hypnosis. He lulls SpongeBob to sleep and tells him that when he snaps his fingers, he will wake up and tell him the formula. However, Plankton is unable to wake SpongeBob up.

In SpongeBob's dream, he is jellyfishing when a giant Krabby Patty appears and eats him. He then finds himself in bed, and a giant Krabby Patty enters the room. The Krabby Patty turns out to be friendly and gives SpongeBob a cookie-pizza and chocolate milk, thus curing his fear. SpongeBob wakes up and says he's cured, and goes back to the Krusty Krab as Plankton begs him to return and reveal the formula to him, insisting that he is still sick.
