The episode was first mentioned in a tweet by Paul Tibbitt on November 14, 2014. The image of a script listed "Dueling Picnics" as a former title. The episode script was written by Jack Pendarvis and the story is by Mr. Lawrence.^[2] On July 4, 2015, Sherm Cohen confirmed that the episode is real.^[3]

Trivia

Plankton says "Uh-oh" the same way he said it in The SpongeBob Movie.
Plankton plays on words for his company picnic calling it "Chumpany Picnic".

Errors

The hologram machiene wasn't shown until the end of the episode. It should've been seen during Plankton's picnic, but wasn't.
