Synopsis

File:Camp Crossbones 009.png
The Dinghies dressed as pirates.

Sandy tasks SpongeBob and Patrick with getting their pirate badges, and they all dress up in pirate outfits. They have a swordfight, which takes them out of the cabin and into the soccer fields, where Tall Tail, Mo, Larry, and Craig are playing. SpongeBob's wooden sword pops the ball, and Craig berates him for interrupting. Patrick takes a ball out of his bellybutton and throws it to Craig, which turns out to be a skull that chases him away.

From atop Perch's watchtower, Sandy and SpongeBob see Krabs carrying out a treasure chest. They follow after him, spying from behind some bushes. When Krabs finishes burying the chest, Patrick uses SpongeBob as a shovel to dig it back up, and they dump out the chest. However, it does not contain treasure, but Pearl's stinky diapers. Krabs yells at them, and Craig complains that they popped the ball, still followed by the skull. SpongeBob apologizes, showing Krabs the handbook and explaining that they were trying to earn their pirate badges. The word "pirate" triggers a memory for Mr. Krabs, where he is a kid playing at a pirate-themed restaurant, only to be kicked out when the employee tells him it is closing time. This makes him cry, and he angrily tears out the page from the handbook, declaring that no pirate can step foot on the campground. The Dinghies sadly go home.

Sandy reassures her cabinmates and explains a loophole: as long as they literally don't set foot on the ground, they should still be allowed to be pirates. They renovate their cabin into a ship and sail across the campgrounds. Patrick uses his telescope to find Harvey, Bubble Bass, and Kevin's cabin. The three invade, and Sandy takes their badges. Next, they invade Rea and Roh, who do not have any physical treasures on hand. Rea finds their badges and gives them to SpongeBob. The three hit up many more cabins, eventually stopping to admire their loot.

Through the telescope, SpongeBob catches sight of something strange, which turns out to be Krabs at a steering wheel, wearing a captain's uniform. He, along with the camp counselors, have made their own ship and shoot their cannons at the Dinghies' ship. Sandy uses a lasso to tie the two ships together, and they get to fighting. Larry tries to shoot Sandy with a cannon, but it fails to fire. He looks down the barrel, and gets hit himself. Patrick swings around on a rope, which Rea cuts, and Patrick falls and crushes Larry. Lady Upturn swordfights SpongeBob, and Bubble Bass briefly watches, unimpressed.

The angry campers gang up on Krabs.

Finally, Krabs captures the Dinghies in inner tubes and calls them out for stealing. Sandy explains that they were not trying to steal anything, and SpongeBob takes out a washing machine, which badges pour out of. He explains that since they could not legitimately earn their pirate badges, they decided to go for "badge shiners" badges. Krabs complains and tells them nobody will be earning any badges. The rest of Krabs' crew gang up to attack him.

That night, everyone at Kamp Koral is playing like pirates, with SpongeBob awarding another camper his own pirate badge. When they run out, Sandy sends Patrick to get some more. Patrick runs up to a tired Krabs, hanging from his cabin's foghorn and tied down with inner tubes, with his underwear exposed. Patrick snips out a patch of his underwear and runs away, as Krabs groans.
