The Chum Famine of '59 was a famine that seems to have taken place in 1959.
History
Mr. Krabs referenced this in the episode "Hooky," stating that no employee of the Krusty Krab had taken a break since then.
Trivia
- In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game, when the game is paused, one of the lines Mr. Krabs says is, "Strange... it's too quiet, like just before the great chum famine of '58," suggesting that the chum famine stretched over two years.
