Dr. Plankenstein is the master and creator of SpongeMonster. He first appears in the episode "Stair Wars" and is a recurring character in The Patrick Star Show.
He resembles Sheldon J. Plankton. He has an ex-wife who resembles Karen Plankton, as shown in "Terror at 20,000 Leagues."
Description
He resembles Sheldon J. Plankton, except he has hair sticking out the sides of his head. He has one eye with a large eyebrow. He wears a collared undershirt and tie with an overcoat.
Role in series
"Stair Wars"
He suddenly gets bored of watching The Patrick Show! and wants to watch wrestling instead, so he argues with Pat-gor over what to watch. Eventually, SpongeMonster fixes this problem by breaking the TV in half with his brain for the two to watch their respective shows. However, Plankenstein and Pat-gor get electrified as SpongeMonster turns The Patrick Show! back on.
"Pat-a-thon"
He tells Pat-gor not to watch The Patrick Show! after the latter doesn't pay him. Template:Section-expand
"Ghost"
He is seen repairing the coffeemaker, which later results in coffee squirting on him. He sees a ghost (which is SpongeMonster) thinking it is SpongeMonster when the latter is in front of him. Plankenstein and SpongeMonster both run away due to getting scared by the ghost, unaware it was Pat-gor in disguise.
"Pumpkin Carving"
He is mistaken as a candle by Pat-gor after the latter mistakes him for a candle due to eating all the candles SpongeMonster needed for a jack-o-lantern. After he is set up in a machine by Pat-gor, he gets electrocuted and flung into the jack-o-lantern lighting it up.
"Terror at 20,000 Leagues"

He appears alongside SpongeMonster. SpongeMonster tells a setup to the joke "What did the electric general say to his army?" and Dr. Plankenstein delivers the punchline "Charge!" Electrocuting them both as they laugh.
"The Starry Awards"
Dr. Plankenstein is nominated for Patrick's award for Best Cutaway Segment. Plankenstein initially shows no interest in the ceremony until he realizes that he has won the award. To get onto the show, he uses an invention to turn his crew 2D, smashing him and his minions into crude papery forms. Plankenstein yells at Patrick to wake him up, and when Patgor tries to take the award first, Plankenstein fights him for it. Patrick crumples the three of them and throws them into the trophy.
