Giant soybean
The giant soybean is a large soybean plant owned by Sandy Cheeks that appears in the episode "The Krabby Patty That Ate Bikini Bottom." It was a regular soybean until it grew huge due to Sandy's growth serum.
Description
The plant has only one giant light green bean, even though soybean seeds grow in pods. It has a thick stem from which two large green leaves emerge. Compared to the huge size of the plant, it is in a rather small pot, which makes it questionable how the big roots can fit in it.
According to Sandy, it could easily feed a lot of hungry people, which is not surprising considering its size.
At some point, Sandy brought it down to her treedome from the land and after creating the growth serum she administered it to the plant.
Role in episode
Scouring for spare change, Mr. Krabs spots an unusually large soybean near Sandy's treedome. Intrigued by the plant's size, he inquires about it and requests a tour of her home. Sandy then discloses the secret behind the growth serum that causes the plant to expand. Excited by the idea, Mr. Krabs decides to add the serum to a Krabby Patty. Due to the serum, the Krabby Patty becomes very large and destroys the buildings of Bikini Bottom. Finally, the giant Krabby Patty destroys the plant as it goes through Sandy's treedome.
