Head-go-boom-boom-itis is a mental disorder Squidward gets in the episode "Squid Baby." It is caused by trauma to the head. Victims of head-go-boom-boom-itis will have their mental capacity reduced to that of a newborn's.

Treatment

Treatment involves ice as it can reduce the size and swelling. Home treatment can help, but it is best suggested for one to get some ice to reduce the size of the patient's head and to reduce the swelling. After the ice has been applied, the patient's head will go back to normal size.

Role in episode

Squidward gets this disease after slipping on a toy and hurting his head on a mailbox. For the rest of the episode, SpongeBob and Patrick take care of him, until the end at the Krusty Krab where Squidward hits his head again on an ice machine. A pile of ice falls on him, causing his head to shrink and restoring his normal, adult behavior.
